At Gienapp Architects, we believe that how you begin your project will determine the end result. When you start your project with Gienapp Architects on your team, you know you’re building on a rock-solid foundation. That’s why we say: Begin Here. Finish Well.
In 2022, Gienapp Architects and VernerJohnson formed a new strategic partnership. By combining Gienapp Architects’ excellence in project management and execution and VernerJohnson’s design expertise and expansive portfolio, the partnership increases the resources of both firms and the services available to clients. VernerJohnson is operating primarily from their satellite office at Gienapp Architects.
VernerJohnson was founded in 1965 as a general architectural practice but in 1978 changed to become a museum-only practice. Today, it is the only architectural firm in the United States specializing exclusively in the planning and design of museums. They offer comprehensive services that museum leadership needs as they move their projects from initial stages through completion. Their projects range in size from 7,000 to 1.3M square feet and are located throughout the U.S. and around the world.
Dale and Brad were students together at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design and at Iowa State University where they became close friends. Since then, they have collaborated on numerous architectural projects. Forming this strategic partnership combines the best aspects of both firms, offering a deeper skill set to clients.
